Active Schools Week 2023
Active Schools Week:
Active Schools Week in St. Conleth’s has very much become an annual event that the whole school community thoroughly looks forward to. It took place in June and was a huge success. Great fun & enjoyment was had by all! All our pupils and staff donned the tracksuits and our pupils were given Active homework for the week. We planned and participated in a wide variety of activities throughout the week which covered most strands of the Primary PE curriculum.
Day 1: COW WOW Day & Gaelic Football blitz
Our pupils in St. Conleth’s were encouraged to walk and cycle to school where safe and possible. Each class also took the opportunity to engage with our Active Walkway. In addition to this, our 3rd & 4th Class pupils took part in a 9 a side Gaelic Football blitz in Ballindine. They really enjoyed the opportunity to showcase their Gaelic football skills which they had been practising with their GAA coach Emer since the start of the second school term.
Here are some pictures from the 9-a side Gaelic football blitz in Ballindine & of the active cross-curricular learning which took place in St. Conleths!

Check out our competitive streak!
In addition to this, we also held our traditional Basketball Blitz Final. The whole school attended to cheer on the two teams; Nets and Kings. A great game of basketball was played!
Our GAA coach Emer was also on site and each class got a chance to practice their Gaelic football skills.
